I’m Kamran Zahid, actor on ‘Crossing The Line’. We are currently 4 days into our November 2025 tour, having reached over 300 primary school students already, with another couple of hundred to go!
It has been such a rewarding experience thus far; the students really soak in every detail of the 20 minute monologue that I perform, formulating such thoughtful responses as they slowly begin to show empathy towards Sean, the character that I play. Jade does such a great job talking with the students as soon as the piece is over, allowing them to talk and engage in serious conversations in a safe environment.

During the workshop that we hold after the monologue and postamble, the students are asked questions relating to the piece. Some of these questions require very nuanced responses, as the story being told has many layers to it, both in an emotional and moral sense. They never cease to amaze me with both their compassion and understanding of the story that has unfolded in front of them, they are so open to taking on different ideas (not very often, usually their answers are spot on!).

CCE, grooming and online safety is so very important in the world that we live in right now and they are already so well versed on so many things, which is a real credit to the schools we have visited. Being able to offers them a different medium (in the form of theatre) to learn about these topics in more detail, with a story based real accounts, is invaluable to them as it adds a human element to all of the big words that they learn.
